I don't know about you, but as a blogger I read a lot of gorgeous blogs by supermamas. And they really are supermamas with absolutely no pretense, doing an amazing job raising, loving, and (or maybe not) homeschooling their kids. It can make a mom feel less than adequate. Let's review.

Truthfully, this isn't about bowling shoes, but I liked it for a title. Tim, Will, and I went to a birthday party today at a bowling alley and William "played" (with lots of help) his first game. I've never seen such cute bowling shoes as the ones that Will wore. He was styling!

This is a preview of what the camera in the Droid can do. Using a free application called Vignette (also available for the iPhone), I took these pictures and used the "old picture" setting. There are so many settings that I can't get into now, but I will eventually!
Have a fabulous spring like day (or fall day for all of my Aussie friends).

Needless to say, there are countless relief efforts on the way to aid the people of Japan in this tragedy. I will be including links to them in my sidebar (the links do not benefit me in any way). Please give what you can.
We sponsor a child through World Vision. They are a Christian humanitarian aid organization who uses all profits for relief work.
Save The Children is currently using donations from it's Emergency Relief Fund for Japanese aid.
To contribute to the Salvation Army, text 'JAPAN' or 'QUAKE' to 80888 (that's a zero, not an 'O') to make a $10 donation of visit their Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief page.
Doctors Without Borders will be sending two three-person teams to the Iwate and Miyagi prefectures. Donate here.
As always, Etsyians are contributing to the cause. A huge number of items are on sale with proceeds going toward the Japanese Relief Effort. Here is a sampling:

Many of you know that my daughter Kendall is a figure skater. This year she has been asked by her coach to participate in the 2011 Skate for Hope, a premiere skating event that benefits the Stefanie Spielman Fund at the Ohio State University James Cancer Center & the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer. In order to participate in the event, Kendall must raise approximately $500 to cover the entry fee, dress, and participation fees.

According to multiple websites, a 17 year old cat is approximately 85 in human years. I think he looks pretty good for an 85 year old, male pattern baldness notwithstanding.

Sarah's blog is a great mash-up of family, life, recipes, and every little other great bit she decides to write about. Thanks Sarah!
I'll pass this on along to:
She Smiles, She Writes
Peace and Projects
My Best Friend Jules
And now, in the great tradition of blogging awards, 7 random things about me!
1. In my life, I've owned 15 cats. I like dogs, but I truly am a cat person.
2. In medical school, I wanted to go into Forensics (this was long before CSI) but then the Chief Forensic Examiner of the State of Ohio came to school and showed us some pictures of cases and I ran like the wind from that idea (beyond gory - so far beyond)!
3. I collect tinted lithographs, statues of saints, and art pottery (though not so much anymore).
4. I have a celebrity crush on Colin Firth (I know, who doesn't) and John Cusack (a hold over from high school, when Lloyd Dobler was the ultimate.)
5. I'm a PokeManiac. Yes, and a geek, too.
6. I have a thing for Yo Gabba Gabba. The music is incredible and it reminds me of Sesame Streets psychadelic good old days.
7. I either sleep A LOT or am a total insomniac. I never know which it will be.
So thanks a bunch for the awards, they are always appreciated!
