So, it seems to be snowing everywhere in the world today. The weather men have predicted 24 inches for Central Ohio, the kids came home early, driving is a Bad Idea. It is beautiful outside, but I find myself day dreaming about summer . . .
Peonies so full and heady that they collapse under their own weight.
Flip flops and camisoles.
The screams coming from the swimming pool across the street.
The burn of the sun on your shoulders.
Bare feet burning on asphalt.
Sleeping with the windows open, the cicada song in the night.
Digging in the garden, getting your back into it.
The heady myrrh smell of old roses.
Summer sunsets - at 10 p.m.
Daisies and dandelions.
Falling asleep in the hammock in the front yard.
Wayfarers.
Ah, summer.

I KNOW! Good god, I just want to be able to go outside and not freeze my butt off. I'd love a real fresh vegetable. I'd love to wear little flats and not big boots.
The sunset at 10 is the one I like. My ooor husband is out the door at 5am (dark), works in a basement office (dark) and gets home at 5:30pm (dark). He feels like a mole. I just want to see the sun when i WAKE UP! And I agree with Kate, some garden tomatoes instead of these red, tasteless things in the store.
Ah woman- you make me long for lazy summer days( just the smell during the different time of day!!!MMMMMm)
Thank you for your sweet comment on my blog. And Hey- enjoy the snow ( is it a storm as in W.D.C?)
Mmmm - garden fresh tomatoes! There is nothing like it. And yes - we have at least a foot on the ground, so we were part of the DC blizzard. Now I have to go out today and shovel - BAH!
Oh yes, summer...
