Blah-bitty, Blah, Blah

Christmas is over (I think Will had a great time but was a wee bit over stimulated) and it's back to the old grind. Except that I am lacking of motivation to start my house wifely duties back at full swing. This time of year we get so caught up in the shopping and visiting and wrapping and what that the normal stuff has to wait a while. Like the Mt. Vesuvius of laundry just waiting to explode in the basement. My house hasn't gone the way of "Clean House," but the vacuuming has to be done, dishes are waiting for me, and frankly, I'd rather do crossword puzzles.

Why do I find it so difficult to get myself motivated to clean? Maybe it's because at the core of me, I don't think it's what I was meant to be doing at this moment. But it IS where I am, and somehow I've got to be the very best that I can be at that task that I've been handed. Just maybe tomorrow . . .

Erin, it sounds like you had a nice Christmas. William and Tim hopefully had a great one too.

There's a joke here in New Mexico, which may serve you now - "Carpe Manana!" When it comes to cleaning that's my motto.

my theory.....if you don't feel it, don't do it or it will become a disaster.....so the laundry and cleaning can wait....really it can !!!

My husband and I tackled our house today. It was, no joke, horrible. Dishes, toys, toys, laundry, toys and more laundry. ACK! But its almost done and I can finally relax.
Wheew :)
Good luck tomorrow!

take it slowly - the laundry won't run away...unfortunately...

I'm with you---it's so hard to get motivated to do housework. I put that first for so many years. Now, creativity calls first, the house is messy, and who cares.

AMEN! I can always think of a million better things to do than my housework. It is rather odd tho considering I have OCD and need mass order. I strive for perfection and want to do everything to the best of my ability. I think you hit the nail on the head...maybe tomorrow....
Stopping by to say hello after I was gone a short time. I have had a lot of changes in my life for the better, including my career. Hope all is fabulous with you. Make sure you swing by my blog. Everything will be back up and running in its normal fashion very soon.
Stay Fabulous

I have had a hard time being motivated to clean lately too. I hope to correct that in the new Year

Well, dirty dishes and dirty laundry means plenty of food has been eaten, and warm clothes have been worn, something I have to remind myself when faced with mountains of the same, LOL! Best wishes to you for a wonderful, joyful new year - hopefully your BEST ever!

My Aunt Lottie had the answer. When I mentioned I had work to do in the house she said, "Oh, go have some fun. The housework will be there when you get back." Aunt Lottie is a very wise woman. ;)
