After saying that I longed for the days of the put together man, I'm not sure that I could live up to these images. The doe-eyed love, the *ahem* cattiness, the "always stand by your man" and the perfectly put togetheredness of it all blows my mind. Course, my mom says housewives back then spent most of their days in house coats and rollers - that I could deal with.

haha, love this. Although, my tongue is too sharp for those times, and I am not sure I could cake on make up just to clean up dog poop, bake, and take care of the kids! :)
I love the now days you just push a button to go across the lake!
Thanks doe the follow! Following back!
I actually Have my man from those days, but he needs help in the style department. LOL!! Also, I wouldn't have fit in back then... I am NO Donna Reid!
such beautiful posters!! I love the elegance and old charm to it..!! Glad to have found you and am following you!!
I am now following you back! Love the look of your blog!
spoons on the Christmas tree. It's what all the kool kids are doing! Gotta love that. Thanks for stopping by the dinner for two project!
Hi Erin! Thanks for stopping by my blog - I had to return the favor :) Whereabouts in central OH are you located?
I love the thought of anyone getting that dressed up...to drink Schlitz. BLEH! I'm not sure I've ever gotten that excited about silverware :) On the flip side, I LOVE all of the old style fashions!
These are really beautiful pictures! Doesn't it just make you want to be a little more glamourous? Me too.
I used to have customers still put together, as they were in the 50's. It required a once a week shampoo/set , sleeping on a silk pillowcase, and not sweating if you could help it because the massive amounts of hairspray would run. Forget rain or snow, you just don't leave the house. I have no Mad Men fantasies, because I know how gross the hair is,lol!
I absolutely LOVE these old ads, granted they are usually sexist and/or racist but hilarious non the less. They sure do make the life of a SAHM easy...which we all know isn't.
Hi Erin! Following you back from FMBT! What a wonderful site you have! I love it! Can't wait to look at your past posts!
I think if I had lived during those times, I would have been the gal with the martini and the cigarette at the door!
Hi Erin
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment...I am now following you too :)))
Dee
following you back. I like the beer with the dressed up mommies. It makes beer seem so elegant instead of today's advertising image of men with tatoos on harleys drinking Bud.
Also, is shlitz beer still around?
More Later!
Thanks for the follow! Love the vintage images, they are great!
Hi Erin! Thanks for participating in Follow Me Back Tuesday! I'm following you too now.
Shasher's Life>Shasher's Life
Ha! Way cute...but so not me! I work in a male dominated profession. But like the old fashioned pics, they are fun.
Following you back from last Friday, looking forward to getting to know you!
BTW, Love your blog! I keep forgetting to tell you that! I tried to follow you, but then realized I ALREADY follow you under my old blog!
These are great! My cousin is doing some remodeling and in tearing down walls, found tons of newspapers from the 1930's. We had fun going through all the old ads in amazement of some of the things we found. Following you back from WW.
I would have SUCKED as a housewife in the 50's! I don't cook, I don't clean and no way you'd catch me wearing pearls and heels LOL
Happy WW! Thanks for linking up
