Tired

I am tired. Worn out. The stresses of everyday life, all of the issues that I have shared with you in the last few days have left me feeling depleted. I think I need to rest.

My friend Manda writes a beautiful blog called There is a Time. . . (For everything, and a season for every activity under heaven). She writes about the important things in our life that we need to make time for, and she writes about these things beautifully. She has spoken about the need for rest before. As have many of my other friends who remind me that I run on empty far too often. I have a sneaking suspicion that there are others who are reading this who know all too well what I am talking about.

"Come to Me," Jesus said, "all that labor and are heavy burdened, and I will give you rest." Rest from the thoughts of insecurity, the wrongs in our lives, our burden of sin. The rest that only Jesus can provide. Soul rest.

So now, I am going to Him, and I will ask for rest. Quieting of the mind, slowing of the heart, peace from within. Renewal and strength for the days to come and the challenges that will come with them.

I hope that you come gracefully to all the rest, centeredness, and peacefulness that your spirit needs. Just looking at those sweet kitty photos sure gives me a boost of calm.

Thanks for stopping by. I am now following you back.
I too am in the need of "rest" rest of all kinds, not just the sleepy kind. I love your post. Running on empty is something I do far to often and this is really one of those times.
Take care and have a restful, blessed and peaceful weekend. I have daycare today and scouts tonight so have to wait until tomorrow for my rest.

Hi Erin,
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I'm now following you :0)

Rest is needed for both mind and body. It's the best medecine ever. A long nice soak in the tub (with lavender if you have it) is a great way to get the process started :0)

All the best to you,
Marnie

Following from Follow Me, Chickadee!

This post hits home for me. I've been running on empty a lot myself, between my full-time job, my part-time writing gig, motherhood, household duties, etc.

Great post!

What a great post. Funny how God always puts me where I should be so I hear things I should hear. I was so busy preparing for a week at the shore with our 5 kids their spouses and all the grand kids..It was a glorious time but a lot of work. Then of course we got home and have been dealing with 2 family crisis' at the same time. I slept in a chair in ICU for 13 nights, went to work and went right back. I had so much energy I think I could have done anything. Now that both boys are heading towards full recovery I am exhausted. I am allowing family to step in and help out(very difficult for me).
Thank you for stopping by and following my blog and for your kind comments. I will be back for a visit soon.

Love those pictures of that sleeping orange cat. I have to have lots of downtime to just putter around my home and do nothing or I get cranky and rundown. Taking time to rest really helps to get the creativity flowing.
