I Love: Small Towns

This post was originally going to be a post about the trees that I love. I found some great images. Then I started to look for burr oak pictures and I came upon photos from Burr Oak, IA. These pictures were so quintessentially small town America that I couldn't quit looking at them and for them. The search led me to photos from Oakridge, TN, Athens, OH (I graduated from Ohio University, so this town holds a special place in my heart), and Johnstown, PA.

Small towns are full of links to the past that have, unfortunately, seen better days

But they are also full of pieces of our past that have been lovingly cared for

While the city may be where it's at, small town America holds the soul, the history, tells us who we are. I love small towns.

I love old signs too! Something so beautiful about them.

I enjoyed looking at all of those photos of small towns. So much character, and so different from the soulless strip malls that make up our towns today.

I went to Ohio U. also. Wonderful four years. Loved Athens.
